Lakemont-Wiley Fire Station 4
One important component of the fire protection provided on the lake by Rabun County Fire Services and by our Lakemont-Wiley Volunteer Fire Department Stations 4 and 4B is the water supplied by our fireboat. Over the next two weeks, Rabun County Fire Services will conduct routine maintenance on the 30 dry standpipes around the lake. These standpipes allow the fireboat to pump lake water that may be used by road-responding fire engine apparatus to fight fires.
Fire department crews will work to:
- Ensure all standpipes are fully functional and ready for emergency use
- Verify ease of access for responding fire apparatus
- Perform touch-up painting to ensure visibility
IF YOU ARE AWARE OF ANY ACCESS ISSUES OR DAMAGE to a standpipe located on or near your property, please let Rabun County Fire Services know via a message on their Facebook page or contact me at [email protected] or via cell at (404) 754-7829.
We are fortunate to have a dedicated group of volunteer firefighters to keep our community safe and our equipment in top condition. Help them help us stay safe!
