The applicant has withdrawn their rezoning application for an approximate 26-acre parcel of land in the upper Narrows located at 5495 Lake Rabun Road to rezone from Agricultural (A) to Vacation Cottage (VC). The property is owned by Johnny and David Irvin and includes the concrete seawall peninsula. This matter will thus not appear before the March 26 meeting of the Rabun County Commission, so your attendance will not be required.

On behalf of the LRA we appreciate the support received from within the LRA as well as from our friends in the Flat Creek Community, Seed Lake and around Rabun County. Your opinion counts, and we appreciate your willingness to get involved. Many attended the Rabun County Planning Commission meeting, many more helped obtain signatures for our petition opposing this rezoning, many had agreed to attend the March 26 Rabun County Commission meeting, and all provided valuable insight into the desires of our community.

The applicant retains the ability to refile for rezoning of this parcel in the future, and your LRA leadership will pay diligent attention to protect our lake community. Many thanks for your support!
