Food Drive to Benefit the Northeast Georgia Foodbank – Lake Rabun Gives Back

The LRA is pleased to sponsor a food drive on Friday, November 28th, with collection at the Pavilion from 9 AM through the community dinner that night. There will be a van spotted in the top parking lot to accept donations.

James Brim, Director of the Mountain Branch of the Food Bank of NE Ga., recently said, “In my ten years of working with the underserved of Rabun and surrounding counties, I have never seen a greater need”. Virtually any non-perishable foodstuff is welcome. James mentioned the following items as being particularly in demand.

Peanut Butter and Jelly
Soups of Any Flavor
Chili, Baked, Dry, and Canned Beans
Canned Ham, Chicken, Tuna, and Salmon
Cereal
Crackers
Rice and Pasta
Spaghetti Sauce
Beef Stew
Canned Fruits and Vegetables

Please use this opportunity to clear out the pantry and share our bounty with those in need this holiday season.
