The LRA Water Safety Committee hosted a Lake Rabun Best Practices boater education class on Saturday June 24, 2023 that covered Georgia’s new wakeboarding and wake surfing law and other boating topics pertinent to Lake Rabun. The new wakeboarding and wake surfing law becomes effective July 1, 2023. The information provided is both practical and useful. A copy of the class curriculum is attached, and we encourage all of our members to read this material and share it with anyone who may operate a boat or engage in towed water sports on Lake Rabun. This might include family members, guests, renters, or anyone who might use a boat on Lake Rabun. In particular, please use the web link via button below or QR code in the document to access an excellent educational video produced by Brad Parker of our Water Safety Committee that teaches responsible wake surfing techniques on Lake Rabun. Please contact Pat Hickey, chair of the Water Safety Committee with any questions. At the end of the day, we should all strive to follow the Golden Rule of boating, “Boat unto others as you would have others boat unto you.” See you on the lake!
