You are invited to join the Lake Rabun community at the Pavilion to thank our Rabun County First Responders, who responded to the fire at Max’s, and raise funds to assist the employees of Max’s Lakeside; Saturday, September 14.
Max’s Lakeside suffered catastrophic damage from a fire on Friday, August 30. Our first responders quickly responded to the alarm. Thanks to the Rabun County first responders (and Habersham County fire personnel who responded under a mutual aid agreement) the fire was extinguished, saving the historic restaurant building and protecting surrounding structures. We salute the bravery and dedication of our first responders!
We also love our Max’s, and while our friends at Legacy Ventures will rebuild, that will take some time. Legacy Ventures and Twin Smokers is donating a catered lunch to include their famous pulled pork, smoked chicken, beef brisket, cheeseburgers, and sides. There are rumors of banana pudding….
Thanks to this generous donation, all net proceeds from this event will be donated to provide financial assistance to the 27 beloved and dedicated hourly Max’s employees whose jobs were interrupted by the fire.
We invite our Rabun County community to unite to break bread, enjoy fellowship and express thanks.
